I’m in the final stages of installing a TKX manual into our ‘70 wagon. The emergency brake primary cable seems slightly short on installation. Of course I understand that the transmission installation physically makes no difference in the overall dimensions of the car. But I’d like to know if there are differences between these intermediate emergency brake cable support hooks. Could anyone please conveniently tell me if there are any differences between these two hooks? I’m trying to gain a 1/2 inch on both sides to get better engagement to the primary front cable…. Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
The e-brake cable hangs off the crossmember. From the factory, the front and intermediate cables were different depending on transmission length. TH400 cars, with the crossmember moved back due to transmission length, used a longer front cable and a matching shorter intermediate cable. How far did the crossmember have to move?
