As I've repeatedly pointed out, those flat plate caliper brackets are not a great design. Factory brackets have ears that carry the twisting load from the caliper directly into the bracket. These rely on the caliper bolts to carry that load, which they are not designed to do. More importantly, the bolts are mounted in rubber bushings, so they really aren't providing any support. This is a poor design as it allows the calipers to **** on the rotor, causing uneven pad wear and potentially causing the pistons to drag in the bores.. Also, they don't tell you which calipers or rotors those are, so how do you ever buy replacement parts? The do say the rotors are 12", which is the same as OEM, but they don't talk about piston area at all. Personally I would find a used set of 69-70 factory disc brakes. I know of at least two sets for sale.
Chris I understand the temptation of a sweet looking kit with everything ready to go. But the aftermarket stuff can really be a nightmare.
My 69s conversion now has Corvette, Camaro, Firebird, and Cadillac components. And that's after 1000s of dollars to replace the original conversion kits unique parts that were difficult to impossible to replace... As well as the Camaro and Cadillac parts that came with it.
I wish the car had never been converted in the first place.
