Will this even=automatic, odd=manual myth EVER die? My 1969 H/O with TH400 came from the factory with a '251 carb and my 70 W30 with a Muncie came with a '256 carb. I don't know where you got that list, but it is completely incorrect. The factory documentation shows 17056259 as a 1976 Cutlass Sedan with 350 and A/C, decidedly NOT a manual trans car.

Thanks Joe, that makes sense. I got the chart from a chevy website, but anyway I think I now know where that carb came from. It was my dad's 76 Cutlass Supreme, with AC. I didn't remember saving it. It's kinda weird that it has two power pistons, three metering rods and another fuel metering device called out #66 on your diagram. Never saw that config before, and in fact the 77 carb I'm messing with now for the 403 has none of that.
