Intake manifold

I have a 79 hurst olds w30. I have an olds performer 2711 and want to do away with egr system. Once manifold mounted I realized portion of exhaust crossover to intake manifold exposed. Any ideas can I block them off somehow.

Can you post a picture of the area of concern? I suspect it's not what you think it is as there's typically no fitment issue resulting in the exhaust crossover being exposed. But post a picture to show us what your concern is.

Look again. The lightweight 1977-up Olds heads have casting pockets for weight reduction. These are not holes. I suspect what you are seeing is that pocket above the crossover and not the actual crossover opening itself. We get a panicked post like this about once ever few months.

Thankyou so much. I was getting really depressed there for a second. When I pulled carb to rebuild I noticed all the carbon in the tubes so I pulled manifold (stock) and seen carbon on the rods and rockers. I cleaned and put them back exactly where they were and torqued to 25.
