I have a 64 cutlass convertible and I need a boot. Has anyone seen this type of hookup on a 64. Legendary can’t do it, I tried. I have another boot from a different olds with these snaps but it’s to big.
I think somebody added the snaps. An original boot clips on the molding. You have 2 choices. You can buy new or repro moldings without snaps and then buy a boot from anyplace. Your second choice is to go to an upholstery shop and have a boot made with snaps that fits your car the way it is. An upholstery shop may be able to cut your bigger boot to your size.
The '64 Cutlass boot cover uses clips, not snaps. If you don't want to refit your incorrect snap-type molding, you'll have to have a boot cover custom made. I would imagine any upholstery shop could do it. Perhaps you could order a clip-type cover and have them alter it.
