Info pls, weight of bare 455 and shipping info

Hi does any1 know around what the weight is for a bare 455, no heads no crank just block, and can any1 recommend a freight company that's ships blocks Florida to CA, Thank you@!!!!

Only 8+ yrs ago & I'll bet Walmart sells the same bathroom scale.

Regarding shippers - I can't make any recommendations; although, following many of the threads/posts about shipping, you might call Greyhound Bus Lines as I believe they are inexpensive & can accommodate this type parcel. It's worth the call, probably.

If the seller will strap it to a pallet, use Yellow Freight- LTL, I shipped a rearend that way,

Tell the shipper to describe the load as scrap metal for the lowest rate.

Have you thought about Fastenall. I shipped and entire interior that I crated up. They were reasonably priced.

I just got a quote on the net from yellow freight and it was only 140 for a pallet 250 pounds, I'm going 2 check on fastenal 2marrow the shipper said he prefers them but believes they won't ship to CA, thanks 4 all the help guys@!!@! If you think of any more post them

If the shipment happens to go missing, their insurer could reimburse the loss also at scrapmetal rates

Hmmm, I’m pretty sure Fastesnal has discontinued shipping because of covid 19..

I'd heard that also. I have not tried them in a while, however.

I'm pretty sure, it's like it is over here where they still do ship. But, it just takes alot longer

I believe that's a pretty fair deal. I would not however ship it as scrap metal as suggested.

Well, the freight co’s ship by value of the load, ship a partial engine, and the price goes way up, only to way to ship a used block Or heads is scrap iron rate, been there many times..

Thanks 4 all the help guys, I called fastenal there not shipping for the public right now because of covid19 but said they'll post online as soon as they start again
