Dash pads
Dash pads
I have collected a bunch of 70-72 dashes and pads over the years some with ac and some without. I have also come across dash pads without any vent holes at all for either ac or outside air. Were these dash pads specific to a yr or model and was it common to have these deleted? Couldn't imagine not having ac these days never mind no vents besides the window.
Just to clarify, there are only two dash pads for 1968-69 and only two dash pads for 1970-72.
1968 non-A/C cars all got the no-vent pad.
1968 A/C cars all got the pad with vents.
1969 - 1972 non-A/C cars with vent windows (Sport Coupes, wagons, and more-doors) got the no-vent pads
1969 - 1972 non-A/C cars without vent windows (convertibles, Holiday coupes, and 70-72 Holiday Sedans) and all A/C cars got the pad with vents. On non-A/C cars the center vent hole had a blank plate. In addition, the side vents on non-A/C cars are different from those on A/C cars but the pads are the same.
All 1968-69 no-vent dash pads are the same (except for color, obviously)
All 1968-69 vent dash pads are the same
Same thing goes for 1970-72.
