1972 442 convertible rocker panel moldings

Does anyone here have a picture of a 1972 Oldsmobile 442 CONVERTIBLE from back in the day that would tell me for sure if these 1972 442 convertibles actually had rocker panel moldings or not?

thank you.

First off I know little about the 70's era cars but on the earlier cars if it came with molding it was drilled for the clips. The lower bottom of the rockers looked like a harmonica with holes. Could be completely different on the later cars.... Tedd

1972 W-29 cars never had the stainless rocker moldings, whether a coupe or convertible.

Terry is correct. If the car came with the w29 appearance & handling package(442), it did NOT come with the rocker moldings. If they are there, either someone added them somewhere along the line (unlikely) or it is not a w29(442).

442s in 70, 71 and 72 never had rocker moldings coupe or convertible. If you have evidence of moldings, ie., holes in the rockers for clips, it was originally a Supreme.

Your blue 72 convertible looks absolutely correct with the proper trim and moldings. It looks really sharp.

Trunk lid edge moldings on 72 442 convertibles?

What about trunk lid edge moldings? I am pretty sure all 442's in 1972 had the trunk edge striping in the same color as the sides.

Does anyone know for a fact, or have any pictures from an assembly manual or even a brochure, if 442 convertibles in 1972 had the stainless trunk lid edge moldings?

Yes, all '72 W-29 cars (hardtop, post and convertible) absolutely had the three stainless edge moldings on the decklid, as well as the two thin pinstripes in the same color as the side pinstripes.
