wiring information

Can anyone tell me if there is a book in existence that has the wiring
information ( including color codes) fora 1984 cutlass supreme brougham ??
someone had replacedthe radio in my olds and cut up the wiring to match the"new" radio. Ihave the original radio and would like to put it back in place , but without some info it could be a nightmare.
Thanks for any help.

You need the factory service manual. It's unlikely the wiring diagram for this car would be in any other publication.

If you're looking for the pin-outs or wiring diagram for the wires coming out of the back of the old radio, you might be able to find that at a Delco website or a site that deals with old car radios.

Here's a nice looking set of factory manuals on ebay right now for a not-bad price.

I have the factory service manual andthefactory electrical troubleshooting manual, but neither one has much info that's of any use. nI don'tknow if there is a"body" manual or if even that would have what I need. It's also possible The connectors have been cut off also. Ihave onepicture of the back of the radio, but it's not very clear as to which is which. I may have to make another run to the " recycle facility "
to see what I can find.
Thanks for your reply myfriend.

This info may be in the Fisher Body manual for that year.

It would be best to get a new harness with plugs from a junk yard and splice them back onto your harness with soldered connections and heatshink tubing over them. Look for 1978-1988 GMs that have the same shape as yours.
Here is the wiring diagram for your radio; cannot remember where this came from. You would be using the top diagram.

The pin terminal names are also stamped (usually) on the top or bottom cover of the radio itself.

You may wish to bench-test the unit before installing it, too.
