Trim piece removal

I need to remove the Left A pillar trim piece to replace a broken convertible top latch part. All I can see when looking into that little dimple that looks like it may be hiding some kind of fastener is like looking into your belly button and seeing nothing but lint. The original fasteners look like they have poked through the fabric and disappeared. Is there a screw in there? Flat? Phillips? Allen? Clutchhead? BTW did they still use those in 68? or is that just glued on?

Philips head screw. My A-pillars look the same.

After you get the screws out, the pillar covers maybe stuck and take some force to get off. At least mine did.

Well great! I removed the covers on the top of the windshield and I can't remember how to put them back on. I've tried every position that I think of with no success. Perhaps the Fisher Body manual can help if they have a procedure for replacing the sun visor brackets on a convertible. The manual that I bought on e-bay won't be arriving for another 2 weeks. I guess they're sending it the cheapest way via a slow boat through the Panama Canal.
