I have a set on my car already (from the PO) but bought a set for my buddy's '69 H/O from Fusick last Christmas and they look and function great (if you don't mind the yellowish glow that the originals were notorious for). I haven't compared them side-to-side with an OEM one but they appear correct in every way to me.

the car Has Halogen on it now but would be cool to T-3 it for all the wrong reasons LOL
I wonder if anyone makes a t-3 look alike with Halogen bulbs?

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of using a T3 headlight. Mine had T3's on it when I got it. When adjusted right they put enough light on the road for me, I can't see out of 1 of my eyes and am blind in the other.

That's a shame, good thing that it doesn't affect your driving!

They certainly don't throw light like a halogen but properly aimed and adjusted they work fine at night, especially when all four are on.

Lectric Limited owns the trade mark and has them made by the OEM.

A few years ago I had this thing about scouring the junkyards for T3's and now I have a whole big box of them and don't know what to do with them. I know they all work I tested them. I thought I'd drill the back out and make T3 H4's. Don't know if you can drill glass like I'd need to.

If you have a set of the low beams I may be interested in them. If you would like to sell a couple of them send me a PM with a price.

T3 headlights are different in a few years also. But, honestly they are crappy headlights when compared to what we can buy today. I have halogens in my car and the t3's are in boxes on the self if I ever give a rata$$ about it having t3's in it.

I have used both Halogens and T-3 on my Cutlass Supreme (reproduction T3 from http://www.lectriclimited.com).
The Halogens were brighter; however they had a funny beam pattern that was difficult to aim.
The Halogen pattern was very narrow.
Since I like to show my car, I bought a set of T3. I still had my original T3 from the factory, and some of them still worked. I compared the two lights side-by-side and only saw 1 difference.
The new T3 had the words “Sealed Beam” printed on the bottom. My 1971 T3 lights did not have that label.
I had to re-aim all four new T3 Lights. The T3 are not as bright as Halogen. I do like the T3 illumination pattern much better than my Sylvania halogens.
This winter will install a relay kit and increase the voltage to the lights by approximately 0.5+ volts and see if they are any brighter.

Part #: SB6871S
Our 1968-71 bulbs will fit, and be correct for, all 1968-71 GM vehicles with a 4 headlight bulb system using 5-3/4" bulbs. Bulb Size: 5-3/4" ,Complete set includes (2) hi-low beam & (2) hi beam bulbs.

Side topic:
Does anyone know how to read the date codes from the back of a T3 light (faint orange paint).
Thanks

If it's a GE bulb, the stampings on the back will likely look something like this:

12V ...............voltage
GE xxxx ..........Manufacturer and model number
SAE H 69 ........ SAE spec the bulb meets
M - Y ............. Month and Year of manufacture

Examples:
10-9 = October, 1969
5-7 = May, 1967

This info was from the March 2007 issue of Musclecar Enthusiast. I can't vouch for its accuracy.

Here are the dates on my T-3 bulbs, removed from a 1971 CS built in Framingham in March 1971 (19k miles on car).
All three of my bulbs have a 3 segment number in red/orange ink stamped on each bulb.

Bulb Dates:
22-1-20
24-1-8
23-1-20

I have heard “Rumors” the date code may be interrupted in this method (just a rumor).
(Work-Shift, Month, - Year single digit, - Day of month).

In the attached picture, you can see the date code numbers 22-1-20.
If the second theory is true, then my 2 of my bulbs were made on a Saturday, and all bulbs were Second-Shift. Not sure if this method is valid.

I collected a bunch of these in the late seventies from various junkyards. I rarely drive my car at night and I would say that is a good thing. The T-3s are not a great headlight but I tend to be a bit of a purist so I leave them in.

Strange, but they seem to work ok back in the day; the 60's. fOf course we did not have halogens, etc, to compare them to then. Nor was there as much ambient light prevalent, as there is today.

Do you have any T3 low beams left over? I am in need of 2 for 67 442. I guess that means I do not need the lines inside the T3 logo.

Nah all the low beams are long gone. Still have a bunch of high beams but none that I remember coming out of a 67.
