Sun scope with Oldsmobile placard
Picked this up from the guy who did the machine work on my olds 324, anyone familiar with these, would it have been used at a dealer or did someone just pop that Oldsmobile logo on there? Have yet to try it but everything looks to be there, timing light/hoses CO sniffer etc.

If you're talking about the round emblem on the left side of it that's Plymouth. Supposed to suggest Plymouth's sailing ship logo though I think it's a stretch!😄 Some Mopar people I know say it's supposed to represent a rocket since Chrysler had a bunch of military and NASA contracts.
I doubt Sun or any other test equipment maker ever put a specific carmaker's logo on anything, except the generic Rotunda (Ford), Goodwrench or AC (GM), or Mopar branded stuff they made under contract for dealer service departments.
Remember reading somewhere that Marquette made a lot of the GM branded stuff.
Regardless you have a hella nice piece there, especially if everything works.

Thanks for the info fellas, guess I better brush up on my emblems😂, I had a sneaking suspicion that that something was missing and someone filled it with whatever fit in there, I have very little money in it anyway, more of a cool factor than useabilty. I may fart around with it if curiosity gets the best of me.
