Hey guys, so my 72 Cutlass has the factory wheel in it. I've been searching for a wood grain wheel that would accent the Cutlass S wood grain, but they all come with a pretty good dish. I'm a big guy so my stomach barely touches the wheel. does anyone know how much of a dish the factory wheel has? and would a wheel with 1.5"+ dish be pushed out farther into me with the adapter? I'm trying to not do the fat guy thing and buy the seat relocation brackets.lol

 

Look for a 1968 factory woodgrain wheel, with the hub and Olds Rocket horn button.

Alternately the Chevrolet 3-spoke woodgrain wheel will work, again get the hub. The Chevy wheel will accept the Olds horn button. The Buick version will too but the Buick wheel's outer rim is vinyl color-matched to the car's interior.

All these wheels use the same horn contact pin which is reproduced, and most all GM vendors have them.

These are designed to have same depth as a standard factory steering wheel and look ever so much better than ANY aftermarket wood wheel ever could.

If you don't mind the four-spoke sport wheel, the 75-80 Starfire version is a bit smaller diameter and comes in colors that match most 70s GM interiors. This is the wheel that has simulated stitching moulded into the wheel rim.

 

The hub from the 1968 wheel will be too small for the 1969-up steering column. You would need a Chevy or Buick hub for a three spoke wheel if you wanted to go that way.
