smokin'

I have smoke coming from my air vents and under the hood while car is running. What could be the problem?! The a/c off. 1985 Delta 88

Have you tried opening the hood and see exactly where it's coming from?

Does it smell like oil or electrical. I'd say valve covers leaking. If it were electrical the evidence will be quite clear shortly.

I've had this problem with a leaf on the hot motor resistor.

"Kinda sweet" may indicate antifreeze, as in a leaking heater core.

I had a plastic grocery bag wrap around the exhaust pipe. Lots of smoke and stink and a very quick pull over.

I'm with Joe on this one. Watch for a slimy condensation on the inside of the windshield. In the early stages, both "smoke" and the condensation will disappear (burn off) as the coolant heats up.
