OK, twenty questions....
Regular shifter or dual gate? The indicator for the regular shifter is part of the woodgrain applique panel, which is stuck to the console with double stick tape. Remove the console and carefully pry the panel off from the underside. The dual gate panel is bolted on, also from the underside.
