radiator seals?

radiator seals?

hey, did any of you leave the "seals/insulation" off of your radiator. i just purchased a new radiator and im not sure if i should purchase these to put back on. http://www.opgi.com/p/cooling/14614/181/C240498.html

Get them. Missing seals can contribute to overheating problems since airflow can get around the radiator instead of going thru it.

In addition to ensuring proper airflow, the seals that go along the sides of the tanks cushion the tanks to prevent rubbing on the steel core support.

opgi.com has them on back order (of course i didnt know until i ordered them). would any big name parts store have the correct ones?

In line tube has them in stock for 39.00 Same parts. (8 pieces includes the clips)
Pn# - INL10132 - 8pc $39.00 set
70-72 Cutlass, 442 Radiator Seals - these are on the top, bottom and sides, to prevent air from passing around the radiator.

if you are not against thinking outside the oem box how about insulation to size from a wal mart or home depot store hardly anybody will see it and it will allow you to drive your baby quicker.

got the front end off and painting some small parts so i can wait for them to come in.
