Previous owner used wrong alt bracket?

Car is an 70 442 with ac, so driver side alternator location. I can't figure out the alt adjuster bracket configuration. So on an ac car, is the small triangle ps pump brace not used, and replaced by the alt adjuster bracket instead? I can't figure out how BOTH braces could possibly go here. Bad Pic but they interfere with each other at the small ps bolt location. I am reinstalling the engine after a rebuild and can't figure it out. I am pointing at the bolt and to the right is the alt adjuster hole that can't align with it.

Your alternator bracket is incorrect for a 1970 car. That's a later style alternator bracket, first used on the 1972 cars. 1970 A/C cars used an alternator bracket that bolted to the front of the head only, coupled with the "H" shaped bracket that straddles the valve cover at the back of the alternator. The alternator bracket is independent from the PS pump bracket on these cars.

Well, since it doesn't look like the one in the 1970 drawing I posted...

If you don't care about "correctness", you can use those 1972-style brackets. In that case, yes, the adjuster bracket replaces the link currently from the PS pump bracket to the exhaust manifold bolt. There is a third piece to that 1972 bracket assembly, however.

Zoom out more so we can see the upper bracket from the front and rear.
Here is a factory 68 AC car. Not sure if the bracket architecture is the same...

He doesn't have to zoom out. It is clearly NOT a correct 1970 bracket set.

And yes, 1968-71 are the same. His are the 1972-up style.

As Joe said, you can just remove the small bracket going from the head to the PS bracket and use the alt's adjustment bracket for that purpose. You already have two of the three '72+ style brackets for the alt. The third is vertical going from the back of the alternator to the alt adjustment bracket. It provides a little more support to prevent the alternator from twisting. It's not strictly required - I ran with just the two main brackets for years.
