power trunk release Rod for 66/67 Cutlass

I was able to get a complete power trunk release system setup. Attached is the size and dimensions for the ROD. I know everyone is able to get the switch and release cylinder. Maybe someone can start reproducing them.

Is this the same component used in the '68-'69 vacuum power trunk release system?

Same engineering, but I think the rod length(s) differed between years and models.

I need that part, I've been searching 3-4 years. I hope someone can reproduce it and I'd buy one but I'd like to find an original. Are you selling yours?

Are you sure that connecting rod is correct for all those years and models? It seems like a lot of difference in trunk structure. Lord knows I am no expert though and could easily be wrong. If that is true, there is probably a bigger market than I thought if the same part can be used in all those cars. It very well might be profitable to reproduce the rod.

Don't feel bad, I searched for 10 years before I got the correct one for my '68.

trunk lock shaft

I seen lots of these setups on ebay. without that rod. I wonder what the buyer thinks when it doesn`t work! My 65 Skylark was the same situation. I did find a shaft on ebay for a 68 big Olds. It was an inch too long so I cut it and overlapped it. Drilled and tapped 2 # 4-40 holes and put it together with machine screws. There was plenty of room and is hidden anyway. Has been working for 10 years.

You may be able to retrofit this on on ebay as I explained in the last post

I also need one of those for a 65, everyone forgets to take out the lock cylinder when they remove a vacuum trunk release.
