I'm more interested in how they changed INTERNALLY. I'm admittedly leery of the ACDelco styles at the right side of the picture.

 

Here you go, just took this off this year and cut it open All metal parts on the inside just took this off. The screw on base is super thick steel, filter is secure with steel ends, unlike Fram
a few years back, we dropped the oil pan for a paint and re-gasket, my mechanic could t believe how clean it was inside. Delco’s did me good all those years.
