Number steamed on rear crossmember

I'm doing a frame off restoration on my 66 cutlass and found a number stamped on the front side of the rear crossmember. What does it mean? 7D15-C60

Good question

photos?

"Number steamed on rear crossmember"

One assumes a typo and "stamped" was meant... but that's pretty funny. Auto cowrecked?

It almost looks like a date code 1967, 4th month, 15th day, but your car is a '66 so that doesn't make sense. C60 is the RPO code for Air Conditioning, but that shouldn't affect the frame.

Still a mystery.
