Non-Olds Question about Chevy vortec 454 in my tow rig

Any of you running a 96-2000 Chevy truck for a tow rig with a vortec 454? We have one in our favorite Suburban tow rig and I just love that truck. It now has almost 235k on it. It is critical about spark plugs and plug wires but otherwise it is awesome. Yes it likes fuel but anything towing does. I am going to do catalytic converters this week and O2 sensors as it has always run warm and has some back pressure issues. Has any of you put on a cat back exhaust system and if so what were the pro's and cons? I don't want a loud system but better air flow would help it for sure

If you have a single cat the limit in gain is the flow through the cat. For a tow rig I wouldn't invest in a cat back.

It has dual cats factory then a dual inlet and single outlet muffler all stock. I was thinking of just adding two mufflers and make it true duals after the second cat. being as it is true duals prior to that. But just go with a quieter muffler. Suburbans can make the sound seem louder than a pick up
