Mirror mounting template
Mirror mounting template
Hey Guys: I have a chrome driver's side remote mirror on my Cutlass, see attached photo. In looking at the 1970 owners manual I see an image of the mirror (see second photo) that seems to match mine.
I would like to get a passenger's mirror, but I cannot find one that matches the driver's one I have aywhere.
The thing is I have never seen one of these on any other car, so I wonder if it is in fact the original mirror for the car.
Any ideas on this?
Thanks, Peter

Did you happen to have one?
Thanks
That thread is over a decade old and the person you are responding to hasn't logged into this site in two and a half years. Here's your own thread with a title that's actually relevant to your question. That might actually get people to read your request.
I was just searching the site and was replying to the thread
Another question on adding a chrome passenger mirror to my 1970 supreme vert
I see mixed messages about having to add a support bracket. Is that necessary? (I know sport mirrors require it).
Also do i have to drill keyholes or can i just drill 2 holes (and install the larger head from inside the door)?
Thank you

I have a factory drill/mount template for a '68 4-4-2 passenger door mirror mount - for a 1968/69 mirror. I can PM or email you a scale copy so you can make your own. I'm working tonight and could get it tomorrow, if you'd like.
I appreciate it
Thank you
You should have a new note in your PM box. Check that out, and let me know if it works for you. It came in real handy for me - worked like a charm. To keep the original template undamaged, I copied it on my printer, scanner, copier, 1:1, then trimmed and cut up the copy. That worked real well in properly locating the punch and drill/cut marks.
