Location of "os" sticker on '69 4-4-2 air cleaner

So, I've got my brand new "Keep your GM car all GM" sticker from Chris for my '69 4-4-2 and now I don't know where it is supposed to be applied! If any of you have a picture, or dimensions, on where it is supposed to go, please let me know so I can put it on!

I had originally intended to apply it 180 degrees out from the snorkel, much like the silk screening that went on my '68 4-4-2. The '69 A-body PIM seems to show differently, though. Manual Section 6-1 page 151 indicates the sticker should go about 90 degrees clockwise from the snorkel as you look down from the top of the air cleaner assembly.

I put out some feelers but got only one response. Before I apply this sticker, I'm hoping to get a consensus of where it is supposed to go. If someone had measurements of where it goes, and even perhaps a picture of their original sticker, that would be the best!

If it makes any difference, my '69 is a Fremont car.

Thanks in advance!

Randy C.

Here is a pic from my original 69 air cleaner. The decal starts at 10 3/4 inches from where the snout meets the base. Hope this helps...

That is perfect! Thank you so very much! It makes sense that it would be in a place where people could see it when they open the hood. The PIM seems to put it in a place where it just wouldn't be seen. Thanks again!

No problem. I bought one from Chris as well. Great quality. Looking forward to restoring it!

I wouldn't be surprised if the centerline of the snout and the center of the sticker were the same angle off the front. Kind of hard to tell where the front is, though.

The posted sheet from the assembly manual doesn't indicate where the sticker goes for the 69 OV code for W-30/W-31/W-32? Anyone know?

I just measured out my air cleaner for the OS sticker, based on what Trophyblue442 said. From the snorkel (actually, the snorkel flange, which is only about 1/8" from the snorkel) to what appears to be the center line of my air cleaner assembly is pretty close to 7 1/4". So, with the OS sticker starting at 10 3/4" from the snorkel, the sticker is closer to the center line than the snorkel. I understand the reasoning for the sticker to be equidistant from the center line as the snorkel (balance), but I can also see a reasoning that GM would want that sticker fully exposed and perhaps that's why the sticker is closer to the center line, than more to the side, of the air cleaner assembly.

Good question for the W cars posted by Boiler_81!

New "OS" sticker applied to my '69 4-4-2 and how it compares with the snorkel for offset from center line.

This is a service replacement unit not a assembly line unit. But it should be close enough.
