How Much Does it Weigh...69 Olds
Hey all, I am looking at moving across country and need to know how much my Olds weighs in order to figure out if it is dolly-worthy. It has been having some wiring/short problems, so I hesitate to drive it very far. Anyway, its a Delta 88 with a 455, convertible top. Any info would be greatly appreciated!

I hate to ask...but where did you get this info from? I just want to be sure it's accurate. I haven't looked in a few years, but do the VIN plates in the door jam indicate GVW? Thanks for the number by the way. I'll be tickled to death if that is what it is.

Round these parts you could take it to a place that sells gravel. They have scales to weight the truck before the gravel is loaded and afterwards to determine how much they scooped on your pick up. They probably do it for free just to change the boredom of selling gravel all day.![EEK!](https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
FYI a gallon of Gasoline weighs somewhere between 5.93 and 6.42 lbs. depending on the mix etc.
Hope this helps.

As svnt442 says, it's good insurance to get it on a scale. Tip: a friendly local scrap dealer may let you weigh a car.

Hey, thanks fellas for the info. Now I don't know why I didn't think about it, but the title has the weight listed on it. It lists the thing as 3850 lbs. If you ask me, that seems a bit on the light side...what do you all think? I don't know a whole lot about convertibles, but I was under the impression that they tended to be on the heavy side due to extra reinforcement in the body. That true?
