HELP! Suddenly got lots of issues.
Hi Guys, Last summer when I was driving my 73 olds delta 88 the indicators quit I got home checked bulbs etc put in a new flasher unit still not working switched on the hazards and they worked so put it down to the stalk on the steering column. I put the car away for winter and decided it could wait. Yesterday I took it out for the first ride of the season and it was running well until I was on my way home. It nearly stalled at the lights so I gave it gas and it picked up and backfired :O I pulled in at a gas station looked under the hood couldn't see anything so came home. When I parked up it was hard to push into Park felt kind of spongey. When I got in it again it would not start in park only in neutral and I don't think I have brake lights anymore but I'm going to check it out more today. Does anyone know why it would not start in park or why it feels spongy? Any help appreciated thank you!

What feels "spongy"? The shifter? It's possible that your shift linkage is worn and/or out of adjustment. This could also be related to the neutral safety switch problem. The shift linkage has plastic bushings at some of the pivot points that eventually wear out, so you need to check them.
