Which Fuel Tank Sending Unit for 1976 Cutlass?

I'm new to the forum so hopefully I'm posting in the right place.

I have a 1976 Cutlass Salon that I have owned since 1976. It has sat for the last several years and I am getting it back on the road again. I want to replace both the fuel tank and sending unit and it appears that there are two different sending units available. One is a three outlet 3/8" line and the other is a two outlet 5/16" line. The problem is that my car has a two outlet 3/8" line.

The car is an early VIN A/C car.

Any info is appreciated.

Weird, a guy named Dave Morris with a 76 Cutlass. That seems all too familiar to me. Hi Dave, I'm David Morris and I have a 76 442.
When I needed a sending unit in my car I couldn't find the correct replacement, probably about 17 years ago, and I got 2 or 3 from cars in the wrecking yard. 17 years ago there were actually 73-77 Olds in the wrecking yard. Two were in working condition, one wasn't. Being 17 years ago I don't remember exactly which sending unit I had. My car has a 350 with a/c. Is yours nonworking? Maybe test it when you drop the tank. Also I don't know but it is possible that the 3 outlet sender has one outlet that is a vent that you can leave open or add a short piece of hose on the outlet. I'll try to get a look at my car in the next couple of days and see what I have under my car.
I'm sure there will be another member who has more experience with the senders in the 76. Welcome to Classic Olds!

Dave - Thanks for the info. It appears to be a vent which I can cap off.
