Might be a little less (17?) for aftermarket tanks like Spectra.

I can't speak for aftermarket, only factory, but what possible reason would there be for a company to make the tank smaller than stock? It likely wouldn't fit correctly, given how the straps go around the tank. Does Spectra claim a smaller volume?

I got a new tank several years ago, exact same size as factory. I wasn't sure if it was 20 or 22. I guess I'm just used to seeing my gauge go up further on my '01 Pontiac when I put $20 of gas in.( even at $2.69 gal. here in good 'ol California) I like putting that amount in my '72 Cheyenne, gives me almost 1/2 tank (although I use most of that in a week going to work and back, about 60 miles.) Think I'll start driving the Olds again Chumley

Far as I know, the '72 C10 cab tank has a capacity of 21 gallons, so no meaningful difference.

Can't explain why it's different than stock, but rockauto shows 17 gallons for the Spectra tank on my 69.

Well, your problem is believing the RockAuto catalog.

If you go directly to the Spectra website, you'll see that they list the Olds A-body tank as 20 gal, same as factory.

Joe, you've got a point these with Rock Auto, they're the ones who have the R45S A/C Delco spark plug as listed for the Olds Cutlass 350 2 barrel, and it should be the R46S. But geez, they were close though.

Many of their Olds motor mount listings are incorrect also.
