did the 71 cutlass's ever come with kick panel vents? If so I'm looking for the parts to put one on the driver side of mine. I'm deleting my AC for clearance of a big block and would like to have floor vents. I plan to modify the recirculating air door to be used as a vent with the controls, just need stuff for driver side. color don't matter as I have to dye the interior anyhow.

 

my 71 is a non ac car and has kick panel vents - two pull cables - one directs to the floor and one directs the door to come out the dash vent. I don't have any extra to help you but at least you know what you need. Good luck

 

Yes, all of them that didn't have factory-installed A/C. Note that there are two different versions of the vent kick panels. 2dr hardtops and convertibles used the twin cables noted above. One opened the kick panel vent and one opened the high-level dash vent. Cars with vent windows (Sport Coupes, four doors, and wagons) got the single cable kick panels with lower vents only. Note that cars with vent windows also got a different dash that did not have the upper level vent outlets.

 

I'm not going for resto on this, just functional. I like the way the old trucks were, just pull a **** by your foot, and whoosh, ya got fresh air. anything like that for a 71?

 

Again, that's exactly what we've been talking about, as used on all non-A/C Cutlii.

 

right on! so the **** is on the kick panel then? for some reason, the way it was worded, I thought the **** was on the dash. Thanks for the info.
