need help figuring out what trans would have came in this car original is gone suppose to be 4 speed did a 3 speed ever come on floor wuld appreciate any help thanks james

I believe it could have been either a Muncie 3 or 4 speed. I've also got a 1964 Cutlass project car with no engine or transmission, but mine has the console in it. There's an insert that shows the shifting pattern attached to the console. In my case it shows the 4 speed pattern. That or a build sheet is the only way I know to identify which gearbox came from the factory. John

 

thanks john for info but still confused so i ask and hope you or someone knows the manual trans options for my 64 thanks to john about the muncie 3 or 4 speed were there any more options on the floor behind 290hp 330 4 barrel thanks for any info

 

also was a four speed option avalible with out console thanks again for any help just got this car and trying to find as much as i can also want to know if is 3 speed are there still alot around

 

I had at one time a '64 2 dr F-85 Deluxe. It was a 225 V6 with a 4 speed and no consul.
