Exhaust Question again

Straight pipe vs H pipe vs X pipe

First I would like to say hello this is my first time posting here but on to my question. I have a 1969 cutlass S with a 350 rocket and a 400 power glide trans, motor has a 4 bbl carb, edlebrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, I have the Flowtech 31150FLT headers 3” (that need to be installed http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk...pw31150FLThefl),
I am thinking of going straight pipe with flow master 40 series or should I go with a H pipe or X pipe. I want sound and power.

This is what I am thinking of getting H pipe setup

This is the straight pipe set up

Which setup do you guys think will work the best?
When I get a chance I will post a video of how my car sound as it is now
But here are a few pics of car
Thank for any help you guys can be.

I have been through this you can search my posts.

There are lots of opinions but for me I ended up with a magnflow exhaust with H pipe and hated it. Had it ripped off and went with the straight exhaust with the super Dyno mufflers. This was exactly what I was looking for that nice 442 chug sound. Not sure exactly what you are after but just my 2c worth.

Nice car by the way.

Nice car and welcome! Fyi, the T400 is not a powerglide, a powerglide is a 2 speed trans and never found its way into an Olds from the factory.

It was suggested in another post with the same question about exhaust systems to go to some car shows and listen for what you like, then duplicate it! This has been the best suggestion as then you can get an idea of what all the different systems sound like. Exhaust systems are a personal preference.

Hmm i thought it was a 400 but i know I have the 2 speed power glide(or is it a Jetway) which i want to change to a 4 speed trans TH350.
Thanks for the Help I think I am going to go with the straight pipe and the super turbo dynomax mufflers.
