Electric Fuel Pump

I would like to convert my 1955 Olds Rochester 4 BBL carb to an electric fuel pump. If anyone has done this I would appreciate any information or advice.

I have an electric pump on my 54. You can use a blockoff plate for a big block Chevy for you car. Mount the pump back by and below the tank. You should run an oil pressure switch that will shut the pump off if you lose power. I have a toggle switch in my glove box that bypasses the pressure switch that I use to prime the carb if the car has sat for a while. I am using a Carter pump with a filter between it and the tank. Some people don't like the electric pumps but I have had no problems. If I am out of town I think my chances of finding a replacement electric pump are a lot better that finding a replacement mechanical pump. There will be other opinions but this is my 2 cents. Good luck.
