duel point distributor w/ mechanical tach drive

I have acquired a duel point distributor w/ mechanical tach drive I removed from what I think may have been a marine 455. Is this a rare or collectible item? I don't want to use it, as I have no use for the tach drive. If its not valuable I was thinking about cutting it up to make a oil pump priming tool. Thoughts?

I have a couple tach drive Oldsmobile distributors. I advertised them on this site and racing junk and never any interest.
You could try ebay??

The olds oil pump is driven by a hex shaft so a socket secured , taped on an extension , so it does not fall off works well. The hex drive is in the distributor gear SO you would have to remove all the teeth to clear the camshaft , Very different compared to a chevy V8

Curios as to brand of your distributor. I had a Mr Gasket dual-point with tac drive decades ago. They were made before the electronic tachs became reliable

I think about the only market in tach drive dizzies is the Corvettes used them.

It would be a lot easier to make an oil pump priming tool from a socket or a nut driver welded onto a length of rod that would fit into your drill chuck.

I would think that someone, somewhere would want one.

To answer 70W-32 there was no numbers or markings of any kind so I don't know what brand it was. Today I ground off the gear teeth and cut off some of the aluminum housing on top. Welded on a threaded rod coupling ( 2 inch long nut) onto the shaft. Makes a nice priming tool...and no chance of dropping a socket into the motor. Also keeps the shaft perfectly straight and centered so no unnecessary abuse to the driveshaft and oil pump. Not that that is likely an issue.
