Were there different front cross members used in '65 442s compared to a '68 442?

Are you talking about the front frame crossmember where the motor mount frame brackets go or the trans crossmember?

The 1964-67 frames are about 1.5" narrower than the 68-72 frames, which is why headers for the early cars are harder to find. The motor mount frame brackets mount in the same places, however, and are even the same part numbers from 1964-1968.

The trans crossmembers are narrower on the early cars. In addition, crossmembers from cars with boxed frames (converts, HD frame option, and VCs) are narrower than those for the other body styles with open section channel frames.

The front one. I have a '65 with a '68 400. The engine sits high in the front. The cross member won't clear the oil pan to use the proper upper motor mount.
Thanks for the response.

Thanks for the response.
The 1968 G-block 400 is externally identical to the B-block 400 used in the 1965 442. With the correct motor and frame mounts (and a stock oil pan), this is a bolt-in. Let's start there. Hopefully you have the original frame mounts and Anchor P/S 2261 motor mounts.
