Year, model, and engine would help give you a useful answer.

I got mine from Original Air Group. Sanden compressor and a very nicely designed bracket for Olds motors.

This compressor is plug n play, uses OEM brackets and hoses.

Why not just convert it? New connectors.

do you find the Original Air compressor mounting flimsy? Just installed their stage 1 kit on my cutlass. I noticed when I was installing the belt If I lean on the belt the whole bracket bends.. just mounted to the head with 3 bolts... no second plane of support.. above 3000 rpm it sounds helicopter-ish. I think the compressor is resonating. Sounds like a muffler rattling on a Floorpan. Thinking I'm going to have to make a bracket to brace it to the head stud and intake the way the original A6 mount was. I think the bracket needs a redesign.

The compressor is a Sanden, packaged to fit up to original mounts and hoses. Weight is about half of an A6 and it can be cycled. There's no vibration or flex with the factory cast iron mounts.

I'm aware of that one. Might have to go there but I'm $800 into this other setup that Joe P. Is saying has a good bracket. Curious if his experience with it is different than mine. It does cool well. If I can reinforce the mount I won't be having to get all new lines fabbed up to mount to an A6 style. I am keeping the old brackets for sure though which are heavy steel but not quite cast iron.

Made up this bracket. I'd say it's 75% better. Only at highest rpms is it annoying now. No more rumble at cruise speeds. Once I replace the original single exhaust with some duals i probably won't notice it at all. got to use my cheapie Amazon plasma cutter to hack up an old bed frame. Changing #2 spark plug a bit of a hassle but not too bad. Leaning on the vbelt no longer bends the compressor all around. Obviously this company doesn't really test this stuff well.

Just curious

Just curious as to why your going from gm compressor to Sanyo. Your giving up 25% more cooling capacity in Arizona?

Just curious? Ron

I have not a had a problem with Sanyo in Az. We have put them a 35 Buick and a 50 Hudson.Hudson has a large interior and it keeps up. I was very surprised on the size of OEM condenser size on the Cutlass. That helps alot. My opinion on a 2 barrel 350 is to me even with performer cam, intake and 4 barrel is that it is weak in the HP department and the Sanyo does not rob nearly as much as the Fridgedaire. It might be me as this is a cruiser with 2.78 gears and I have been use to driving hot rods all the time.

I's have to agree with the OP, I'm also in AZ and as I drive home in the afternoon, my 76 Cutlass Supreme hits 210-220 F. I don't dare run my AC (with A6 compressor) as the load on the engine would probably kill it. I'd heard the Sanden's are easier on the engine load, so I've been interested in the conversion as well.

Can't speak for op, but my A6 was pooched. I was warned the A6 remans are a gamble and even if you get a good one, they don't like to be cycled frequently as required by the ccot conversion I did.
there is a 10 piston A6 aluminum replacement supposedly, but I couldn't find it in stock anywhere when converting my system.
