Cool Best engine break in oil

I just had my 1966 olds 330 engine rebuilt. But I'm trying find out what would be the best break in oil along with the best oil to continue using on a daily basis. Thanks any information would be greatly appreciated!

I use 4 quarts of straight 30w non detergent, what evers cheap, and add a quart of GM EOS. I break the cam in and change after 100 miles. I run Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil 10w30 after that with WIX filters.

Hello:
I would use an oil or additive that is correct for a New Cam Break in period, I purchased an additive for the oil I used for my break in. Summit or Jegs should be able to help with whatever you need, it is possible that the Box Auto Parts stores may also have something for you. Make sure that you get something that IS recommended for New engine break in, after that use whatever you have good luck with in the past, such as Kendall, Valvoline, Havoline and Quaker State just to mention a few, there are many others as well. See, answering the question wasn't that hard.
Thanks, Ron

Comp Cams make an oil specific for new engine break in. Has all the additives required. I have used it on numerous engine break in's with no failures

Is it really so wrong that when I hear 'break in oil', I automatically think Dungeons and Dragons ... carrying oil so the door hinges won't squeak when you're skulking about?

X2, I use the Comp Cams break in oil along with 20w50. After 100 miles, I drain the oil and change the filter and add 20w50 with a bottle of ZDDP.

We use Brad Penn break-in oil on all of our builds.

The viscosity is dependent of the clearances and/or specific parts used in the build.

I used accel 10-40 (SF rated high zinc level, was sold at walmart havent seen it lately) for break in and after 100 miles put accel 10-40 back in... no break in additive this time around as I used Tech Line coatings on camshaft/pistons/oil pump gears, all bearings and other parts
