230937 group 8.147 front fender mldg 70-72 4800 (Vista Cruiser)

The others were not listed in Olds price schedules from 1966-78. High numbers are probably after that era. Smaller numbers are probably non-Olds.

I check the price schedule first to see if the part exists as of that date in the Olds line. If I can find it I searched through that group number for it. For example, 8.147 is a very big group for scripts, moldings, etc. You didn't tell what the part looked like. . .

Many times the casting number on the back does not correspond to the part number. For example, 399820 that you found to be for a 68 is not listed in the Nov 69 price schedule. It almost certainly would be listed if it were the part number for a 1968.

I'll check some numbers when I get home tonight if no one else has contacted you in the meantime. I have a 64-76 A body parts book circa 1981.

I've got a July '72 printing of the '64-'72 Olds F85/Cutlass Canadian Master Parts Catalog, and none of the numbers you've listed are in there, except the VC moulding already identified.

Whie I was a Cadillac/Olds partsman back in the '60's, they used to 'supersede' part numbers all the time, for absolutey NO apparent reason!
Now if you had the moulding #3630615, I could tell you it was a 1/4 panel side mldg for a 2-dr Cadillac CDV, both sides, including 'verts!
[Have no idea WHY that one stuck in my head!!]
