Hi, Just got my air charged and running except the dash switch doesn't activate a/c clutch. Is there a relay located between dash and a/c clutch, if so anyone know where it is located, thanks.

This is a real quirk of the '73s (and '74s, I think, not sure about '75).

For reasons impossible to understand, the engineers decided that if your R-12 pressure ever went down too low, indicating a leak in the system, it should turn off and you shouldn't be able to turn it back on.

In order to accomplish this, they made the pressure switch on the back of the compressor cause a fuse to blow when the pressure got too low.

You need to follow the wires from the compressor to the little black plastic box, about 2x2x1", located not far from the compressor.
Open the box and inside is a fuse that will be blown.
Replace it, and you should be good, as long as your pressure doesn't drop again.

See the Chassis Service Manual for more details.

Eric, thank you so much, that is a very strange quirk indeed. You've save me a bunch of work trying to run this down.

Anytime. It's little things like this that this forum is good for.
