I have the following springs on my 71 CS - I'm not certain if the 72 CS maintains the same style.

For starters and to be clear, you have the springs, and want to put the ashtray door back in place? BTW, those springs that Norm referenced are the same for 1970-1972 A bodies.

FYI, they're much cheaper at The Parts Place ( Ashtray door springs )

As Allan suggested on another previous thread regarding ashtray door springs (if that is exactly what in fact we're speaking to) >>>> https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...lass-s-105034/

...
Some of the guys on this site part out cars and would have those OEM ones. I doubt they would charge much for shipping. The Parts Wanted section of this site can be rewarding.

I have the springs, and they were less than $8 shipped. Have not started the task yet, looking for best way to proceed.

Is the ashtray door out of the intermediate dash?

I have a spare intermediate dash and door in the shed. I'll have a look at them and get back to you. Might be a couple days as I have other stuff on the go right now.
