71 Cutlass Radio dimensions?
My brother is on his way to a swap meet, and is looking for a radio for my 71 Cutlass, and I did not get him the dimensions of the radio before I left home. Does anyone know the dimensions between the center line of the ***** and the face plate dimensions?
Thanks

I know you are asking for dimensions on a 1971 cutlass radio, my is from a 1972 cutlass it's a am/fm so if yours looks like this maybe this will help, but I think all radio cut outs on the dash should have been the same size from 70-72 but not fully sure... From **** to **** its 6 1/2 " and the face plate is 2"X4"

Al, Thanks for the reply. He didn't find anything though. I'm only looking for a radio to fill the dash, don't really care if it works or not. If I don't get a radio, I'll make a radio delete plate, I have a 3D printer at work that I can make a radio delete plate.

Any of the 70-72 A body radios (AM, AM/FM mon, AM/FM stereo) will have the proper look for your car. The ***** were a specific pattern for those 3 years. There's always someone with a radio for sale somewhere, why not post a request in the Parts Wanted section of the site?

What's your goal here? Are you just looking for any correct radio just to cover the hole on your dash? Are you installing a wireless bluetooth receiver? My goal is to leave the factory radio and install a bluetooth receiver in the glove box or under the dash somewhere and just use the play list on my phone or ipad... If you make a delete plate for your car with a 3D printer post a picture, would be interested to see how that looks...

I will post the 3D part if I get that installed, we just wanted a correct radio to fill the dash, and either install a hidden radio or as you said a receiver to play music from my phone or IPod.
