70-72 bigblock fender braces

The last set I had used a stud that came out a factory hole the fender in front of the hinges. This set does not. I was told they were removed from a bigblock Olds a-body. Did Olds use both styles?

lol, i just looked up the set i seen on eBay and they were on a dark floor. i went out and took a couple pictures of some on a car i have. it looks like there is a bolt through the nut that is welded to the brace. that bolt is the stud that you see under the hood.

Brace???

The last set I sold were slightly different , they did not have the threaded hole with a bolt run thru it like yours or the set I got today , see pictures.

My 71 442 has the stud style and my 72 Cutlass has the brace with the threaded holes. I was never sure why they were different

The ´70 SX that I had sold last fall had studs with nuts on the fender side, but I have recently purchased a core support and fender braces out of salvage from another ´70 which had the threaded square nuts attached to the brackets. I am gathering that they were different based on build location, or component availibility, or day of the week. Maybe one of the local Rocket Shaman can give us an answer.

Was wondering where the fender brace attaches to at the cowl end? Any help would be great......

Thanks,
Ted

Just looked at Parts Place. They have this listed new for 59.00. Can't tell from that small a pic, but from the look of the limited number of fasteners they likely have the nuts welded to them?
