Is it firing at all on your timing light? Start with getting #1 cylinder at tdc and then stab your distributor. The rotor will be pointing to #1 wire on the cap, then wire ccw 18436572. Make sure there is power to the coil and remove the filter cap. If you have a tach, leave it disconnected until you get the engine running.

got back to basics

1. Make sure you are on the #1 compreson stroke , then make sure TDC of piston lines up with the timing mark on Haronic balancer. just to make sure you aren't 180 Deg off..

2. Make sure plug wires are correct on distributor cap. firing order, make sure you have spark.

3. Find where #1 wire is on Distributor cap, and mark below where this is on the distributor body.

4. Pull distributor out if need be, and align rotor were #1 mark is on the distributor body, or maybe just a pinch before it.. NOTE Olds V8 330-455 distributors run counter clockwise.

5. make sure carb has fuel and choke is closed.

Good luck

Fred
