Does the cigarette lighter in a 1969 Hurst/442 come apart to allow replacement of the lighter element? I have tried to unscrew it by hand, without success. Before I go further and use some tools and brute force, I want to make sure it will come apart.

my 69 cutlass lighter was rusted together where the element screwed into the handle pull

after soaking it in aerokroil penetrating oil for a week ... no luck so I ended up breaking it off and glued on the new element
