1970 Lansing Engine Pad & Transmission Stamps

1970 Lansing Engine Pad, Transmission Stamps, fonts, serifs and Julian dates.

I am only seeking data for the Lansing Michigan Plant.

Especially pertaining to W-30s and W-31s.

1) How many styles of fonts were used throughout the 1970 model year?

2) Did the trans and engine always get hit with the same gang of stamps?

3) Dowel alignment hole on engine pad, why don't all have it?

4) What is the latest application date / 1970 model year for use of non serif "F" /455.

5) What is the latest Julian date used in Series 4 casting non serif "F" blocks.

Thanks in advance.

In my book I talk about blocks and how to identify. The 1967 - 1970 blocks(455) had the Sans-Serif "F" with the casting Julian date of 366 or Dec. 31, then they started the Serif "F"(the ones with the little lines on the F) of 1, but I believe it was really 2 because of a Holiday.

What is a Series 4?
