I'll see if I have a photo, my 70 vert has one, partial coming off, they put it on top, you can see it in this pic under the plastic.

Just checked, my hardtop does not have one.......Hmmmm. I would think as long as I owned the vert it would be the most original of the two but who knows I was not the original owner. Hopefully someone will chime in, tonight I'll check the assembly manual and see if its in there.

So, the decal for 1970 is applied to the outer top side of the a/c box? And the lettering in the decal faces the outside?

Anyone have a picture? (I'm unable to find an illustration in the '70 Assembly Manual'.

I was looking around at the nats this summer and I came away with the thought that the factory workers put em on where they wanted. I'm not sure what year they put em on but my 71 had one and it was down towards the center of the car. I talked to some of the owners of the cars at the nationals and they said the sticker was either original or had been replaced back where the original was. Here's some pics I took of their cars. oops... ignore the 1st pic...

I have never seen one on a 70 that i know was original. I don't know if they fell off or did not come on them. I have seen several on 71 and 72 cars. I am not an expert whatsoever but all the 71 and 72 boxes i have seen are a little lighter colored than the 69/70 box. The picture of the 69 you posted looks more like the 71/72 color to me. Your last picture is shaded but looks a little closer to the 69/70. When we get to splitting hairs like this it leaves alot of room to be wrong on a subject that may not have a right answer.
On 71/72 cars, I have seen them in all 3 places you posted pictures of.

Yeah I know what you mean... I had already bought the sticker 10 years ago and I just finally redid my A/C system and decided to put it on so I looked at all those cars and became more confused!! On my car it doesn't really matter, but if you're doing something you try to make it right....

My Arlington built 71 didn't have one, but I saw enough 71 and 72s with them, I put one on mine as you're contemplating. I placed it where I saw most of them, and that is vertically as indicated in my picture.

That's where I believed mine was also and that's where I put it. I like...
