1969 hurst olds survivor
1969 hurst olds survivor
I have come up with a 69 Hurst Olds survivor. It needs a water pump, a master cylinder rebuild and an alternator belt. The advice I was given by a local mechanic was to have the water pump rebuilt. I am looking for suggestions on where to have this done. I would also like to ensure I get back MY original part. Suggestions?
What parts should I use to rebuild the master cylinder to keep it original. Where would you recommend I get the parts?
Any insight on the original brand and part number for the alternator belt?
Thanks!!

If it were me, I would get what I needed at
the parts house and pay the core charge, keep
the originals for a rebuild at a later date.
I can't help with the belt part #.
Good luck and post some pics when you get a chance.
Sound like a very cool find.

For the water pump I have used Arthur Gould to rebuild my original pump on my 67. They rebuilt mine in 2008 and it is still working well, quiet and no leaks.

And.... Karp's for the master cylinder. They will line the piston bore with a stainless steel sleeve.

I used tru-blue advise i put a auto zone water pump and the hurst still is over heating I have flushed the block and the radiator what do I do next trans will not shift into drive either
Did you change the thermostat?
Does it have it's fan shroud?
You may want to take the radiator
to a shop and have them boil it out.
On the trans, check the line to the modulator
at the rear pass side. Make sure it doesn't have
any cracks, and is pulling a strong vaccume from
the intake manifold. After sitting so long, it could
have gone bad too.

All good ideas. I have changed the thermostat and put a 195 degree in it. it does have fan shroud. My weekend starts tomorrow and i think I will have the radiator boiled check vaccum lines and put a vaccum gauge on it and a timming light and see where we are at. did everybody find the pictures on my other post
