Drag strip time

My first trip to the strip in over 15 years. Had a great time. Now the story. Stock 1967 Olds 442, 2dht, P/S, P/B, Factory A/C. Has a 68 350 while my original 400E is awaiting installation. The little 350 4bbl is all original, and believe it was advertised as 300hp back in the day. Stock manifolds into original 2.25" dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. Stock switch pitch ( small 12" jetaway convertor)TH400 into stock 8.5 posi ( believe 3.08/3.23 gears). 7027156 Quadrajet (original to my 67 400E motor). Engine runs great. Smooth (pulled to 5000rpm when the trans shifts @ WOT), ran a cool 180 degrees, doesn't burn/use any oil. Now for some numbers. This is probably laughable to most but dang I had a good time. My first excuse: my reflexes have slowed some since my 2nd stroke this last December. Thank the lord for automatics. Hang on to your hats/helmets!

Reaction time: .4661
60 Ft: 2.4202
330 Ft: 6.5445
594 Ft Et: 9.3443
1/8 Et: 9.9727
1/8 mph: 71.60

Now I know this isn't great but I'm hoping when I get the 400E back & installed, the time and speed will be better. Will definitely go back to the strip since it was so much fun. Maybe 6-10 times a year. Would like a 8 sec car in the eighth. Besides the 60 mile drive up to the track is a beautiful and scenic route. Wife is included because the track is a mile from the Casino/food/shows. Six of my close friends (also in older cars) all drove up together . We were originally going to a car show at the track and to watch the invited old gassers. They were fantastic and put on a great show. Track opened a slot for the car show participants to run. We all had a wonderful time. Can't wait till we go again even if I was the slowest.

Not bad times at all I think. Specially if you had a good time. We hit the track for the first time in 3 years and we had a blast . We also have a nice scenic route appx 60 miles with plenty of stops for fuel food and anything else. Its all about having a good time.

If you didn't break and drove it home it was a GREAT track day!

As long as you had a good time, that's all that matters!
