Top inner liner?

I am restoring a 1970 Cutlass convertable, and noticed the top had a white lining to match the white interior. Was this an option, or were all convertable tops built this way? Any I have been in the frame is bare on the inside.

Thanks,
Ted

Don't think I've ever saw that. Can you put on a pic?

The cutaway of the top.... outerlayer , foam, white reinforcement material that went across roof bars and the white inner liner that you would see when roof was closed.. well, it use to be white

Maybe it was added for acoustics? I have zero experience with verbs so this is only a wild guess.

How are you at nouns, Allan?

I've seen lots of convertibles, but I've never seen that either. Not sure what's going on there.

I think you might have it backwards...I see the white inner layer. The inner layer I see in the pics looks like a black layer that's been bleached by the sun, not a white inner layer. It's very common, if you leave the top down always w/o the boot. Could have been a custom job. I don't think that top is vinyl, it's the stayfast cotton type?

Now DAT is funny. I was using the eyepad and it changed vert to verb on me. Good catch. Bad eyepad, bad...

Ted, my old top, that I just removed looked like that too. I think it was black that had faded. New top is white but the interior side is black.
