Correct core support color for 70?

I know this will get many opinions but looking for the correct color for the core support in 1970. One of these two cars was restored by Wings Auto Art and the other restored by Level One Restorations. One looks simi gloss black and the other looks matt black. I like the matt look best but not sure what is correct. What say you?

Semi-gloss. Not matte, not gloss.

I believe that all of those parts went through the same dip process, though it's possible that the core support itself, as a fairly large item, was sprayed.
The dip process was far more conservative of paint than spraying, and involved maintaining a thin surface layer of liquid paint over a tank of water, with the parts dipped into and out of the tank, picking up a thin layer of paint in the process.

I'm sure that a GM alumnus can fill us in better.

I will second the semi-gloss. Mine 70 has the original core with the dealer service decal and over spray from ziebart.

I'm not sure about the 68 and newer cars but the 66/67 A-Body cars built in Lansing had a slight gray tint to the rad support/inner fenders & firewall. The color was coined Lansing Gray by Curt Anderson.

This is true for 1970 also. I have mixed this color many years ago and got it right. If your going to mix your own use black lacquer and tinting white and flattener and test before shooting the support.

I just saw for the first time a 70 supreme that had an original cowl and firewall with a very obvious grey hue. It was not on the core support or top plate. I also agree that the 66-7's had a slight dark grey look to the parts and inner fenders. I've seen both of those cars in person you pictured and I tend to like the coloring of the one on the left. (Wings).

To me, that milky gray effect is much more noticeable on the insides of the front fenders.
