The lone Olds surround by Big block Chevys

Got the car out yesterday for her maiden voyage cruise in. They parked me slap dab tween a 67 396 Chevelle SS and a 65 396 Impala SS on one side and a 63 409 Impala SS and a 68 396 Camaro SS on the other. We were the lone Oldsmobileists there. Betty looked great all polished up and got a lot of attention in walk arounds, nods, and positive comments. We did find a couple with a 72 Skylark convertible across the lot to trade info and laughs with. You can't deny the shear horsepower I was surrounded by, but when it came to attention, we got tons of positive feedback and questions. She held her ground well. Great food, bluegrass band, dancing, car talk........good evening.

To me cruise ins and local car shows are for swapping stories and meeting great people.

Great stories too. The two Impalas were one owner cars, the Chevelle was purchased in 69 by the current owner and the Camaro was driven by the second owner who was celebrating their 30th year with the car

Reminds me of the last cruise in I attended. I was out of town on a business trip. Stopped to eat a restaurant. About a block away was a cruise in. I stopped in to look. Owner had an all original 69 Chevelle SS 396 "all original" 50,000 mile car......then proceeded to say he swapped out the 307 with a 396. Still all original....riiight.

My 2 cents

How good of you to bring some dignity to a Chevy car show.

I have to say the 63 409 was amazing. There was a new model Superbee and a few new mustangs at this cruise too. I enjoyed watching them polishing away on their cold air intake tubing. Not much else to do other that Armorall the dash.

Last show was the same, but there were a few non-chevy cars floating around. A few GTO's, couple of Buick Wildcats, only two Oldsmobiles, one '67 Cutlass convertible with a '66 front end () which was for sale. The guy was a bit ambitious stating that he was going to ask $25K for it.

The other was a frame off restored '68 442. It was a thing of beauty! Guy was not too talkative but appreciated that I at least knew what it was.

Took the F85 to a local show last weekend. Good turnout of over 100 cars, many of them high dollar, but I had the only Olds..............was also the only one of two to make the local paper.

Someone had good taste.
