ALL C.O.ers NEED to Read this....
Classic Oldsmobile is fortunate to have Eric from Maine -- "MDchanic"
among us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take the time to read this:
This is Craig, Mobile Parts, Long Island, New York, and I just met Eric from Maine -- known on the C.O. website as "MDchanic"...
Funny enough there were two Oldsmobile people at my booth -- and we
were talking about how great the C.O. website is -- and I was mentioning about how this one guy - Eric from Maine - was very knowledgable, etc., etc., -- and guess who 1 of the 2 guys were?!?!?! Eric from Maine!!!!
Guys and gals, Eric is an extremely nice, extremely knowledgable, very
personal, and very intelligent OLDS enthusiast among us.... he has hands
on knowledge that is critical -- and he has a demeanor that he is just willing to help anybody who needs assistance.....
When he responds to you -- and he has like 15,000 posts !!!! -- you can take his word as "gospel" -- do what he says before anyone else's suggestion.......
And Eric, talking with you for 20 minutes was not enough -- next show we're both at -- if you can hang for that evening -- DINNER IS ON ME --
we need to talk some more!!!! let's tall some stories!!!!!!!!!
among us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been a member here for a long time and I have to say that Eric is one of the most knowledgeable(if not THE most) members that I have seen here.
I don't wanna call him nice, he may take it as an insult.

Did you guys chat much about the color Pink?
Yup, we know Eric well and he does offer some solid advice to members here. Heck, I'll call him nice 'cause I know he won't be offended if I say that.

Ummmmmmm... Wow.
I spent about eight hours driving yesterday, and was a bit "off-line," so I didn't see this until I got a PM today mentioning it.
Ahhhhhhh... Thanks, Craig... Thanks everyone... I am at the least flattered, and at the most really touched (no, not THAT way) by this.
In fairness, though, I must take issue with any use of superlatives.
I am not, in any sense, the most knowledgeable poster here. I would credit Joe Padovano with that, as he probably knows about ten times more than I do. Also, I am not an experienced, professional engine builder (yes, I have done a couple), so Mark, Smitty, and a bunch of the other racing dudes know far more about that than I am likely ever going to.
I do try to be helpful, and since I don't really watch TV, I find it relaxing to read and comment a bit about car things, and I like teaching people.
I know I'm not that nice, and I can definitely be a p__k sometimes, especially when the answer is right in front of someone's nose, and it would have been easier for him to Google the question than to post it here, but in the end, I really want people to be able to fix their own cars and do their own work, as I believe that this sort of self-reliance is what made this country great, and also that one of the reasons we seem to be slipping is the slow disappearance of the basement workbench and of every guy on the block being outside on Saturdays doing some sort of a project (along with a son or daughter watching and learning).
Thank you all. I think you kind of made my day.
